Groveley Engineering has acquired Phoenix Engineering of Poole for an undisclosed sum.

Phoenix had specialised in one-off component and small batch work for the aerospace and oil and gas industries.

All staff have been retained and have moved to Groveley's Christchurch factory including general manager Chris Smith, boosting staff numbers to 20.

Groveley director Robert Bennet said: "We make a lot of equipment for the oil and gas industry, so the two businesses are a good fit. The additional skills and equipment give us wider scope to meet customer needs."
